A School Counselor’s Essential Role

  • Provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment where all students can feel heard and empowered to thrive through life’s challenges and triumphs.
  • Support student’s social and emotional well being, academic development, and college & career exploration.
  • Provide crisis support counseling.

How can students meet with their School Counselor?

  1. Students can go to the Counseling Center and ask to speak with their School Counselor before school, during break, or after school.  Students can also ask permission from their teachers to meet with their School Counselor if they are experiencing a crisis.  Students who walk into the Counseling Center during class time will immediately be sent back to class and advised to request an appointment (see below) or return when allowed.
  2. Students can complete our Counseling Appointment Request form or email their School Counselor directly.
  3. Students can fill out a Counselor Request half sheet (hard copy) and place it in their respective School Counselor’s mail slot in the Counseling Center.
